Steph

Thu May 14, 2009, 8:53 AM
As a few of you may know, one of my good friends passed away last Saturday. She was hit by a drunk driver that evening, and was killed instantly. I didn't find out until Sunday morning, when her sister emailed me.

Steph was a writer; that's how we met. She was, in fact, the girl who got me into the Twilight fandom. I read one of her stories, and enjoyed it so much that I was inspired to write my own. That was about eight months ago. A couple of months later, I finally got up the courage to ask her for help, which she willingly gave. She helped me with some of the editing with my stories, and I gave her a few (not nearly as competent) pointers in return. She was such an inspiration to me and, over time, came to be a great friend.

She had something that many young writers crave, and very few actually possess. She had great talent for what she did. I have no doubt that, had she chosen to go along the publishing route, her name would have been up there with Rowling, Clare and Meyer one day.

I miss her so much. I miss her wit and odd sense of humour. I miss her ability to cheer me up no matter what. I miss her stupid screen names on msn. I miss her incredible writing. I miss her awful taste in music... but most of all, I miss her. I miss Stephanie.

It's still hard to think that she's gone. She was always so full of life... it seemed impossible that she'd ever die. It's hard to accept that she's gone.

The point of all this is that all of my stories are now on hiatus. Maybe I'll finish them one day. Probably not.

Love you, Steph. Always. xxx

Hola!
dA says you're online. So I trust them? Hmmm...

Just wondering how everything is in Becky-land - you accepted me on facebook the other day, and it just made me realise how long it is since we spoke! :(

I am! But I am also in the midst of cooking on the bbq because... (drum roll, please...) yes! It is amazingly sunny here! Believe me, we're all reeling up here, too.

I know. Sucks, huh?

Yay to the power of modern technology and im! xo

Oh, I don't blame you. It made me say that too. I thought it was some kind of practical joke that the Met office were pulling on the nation. But apparently not... and they reckon it will continue until sort of Wednesday, too, which is nice. xD

And I'm hardly going to shoot you. I don't think my alter-ego Sir Will of Scarlett would be very happy. Do you?

And I bet that it rains when I head up to Scotlad on Amy's Epic Uni Tour... seriously. It always does... ;)

Ah, Sir William of Scarlett... How I hath missed that fictional wonder. And the actr who plays him... (On that note - Robin and KATE?!? Rather her than Isabella, but...??)

Much love xxx
